What is Walk 4 Faith?

Walk 4 Faith is a 5K (3.1 mile) Walk/Run and a 1 Mile Fun Walk scheduled for Saturday, May 12, 2012. Participants can raise pledges for the ministry or faith-based organization of their choice. Registration includes free parking, free admission to the zoo, the day of the race, and a goody bag.

 

How can someone sign-up to run/walk in the Walk 4 Faith?

To sign-up for the Walk 4 Faith, simply click on "Runner/Walker Sign-Up" in the menu bar at the top of this page and fill out a sign-up form. Groups/Teams will need each runner/walker to individually sign-up. Groups/Teams are welcome to run/walk together, but they must sign-up individually.

 

How much does it cost to register?

Participants will pay a $20 ($15 if participant has a zoo membership) entry fee to cover event costs.
A fee of $5 will be added for anyone registering, at the race, on race day.
Then runners/walkers/groups will be encouraged to solicit pledges for the church, ministry, or faith-based organization of their choice. 100% of all PLEDGED support will go to the participant's church or ministry.

 

When is the deadline for registration?

Registration will be available ONLINE until Friday, May 11, 2011.
All mailed registration must be mailed prior to Tuesday, May 8th, 2012.

 

Can I register to walk on event day?

Yes, there will be a $5 fee in addition to registration.
Race Day registration will take place from 8:00 a.m. until 8:45 a.m. on event day.

 

How do I make a pledge donation?

There are two ways to donate to a runners cause:

 

Will there be food or water provided for participants?

There will be water stations on the course and food and beverages available for participants at the finish line.

 

Where does the registration fee go?

The money goes to all race fees, finish line recovery and fluid station supplies and city permits, as well as facility rental charges and any costs to operate Walk 4 Faith.

 

Is there a rain date for Walk 4 Faith?

No, there is not a rain date for Walk 4 Faith, the event will go on rain or shine.

 

Will I have to pay to park?

Participants will receive free parking.

 

Can I bring my friends and family with me to the zoo after?

Yes, friends and family can purchase passes ($7.50 for adults and $5.00 for Seniors and Children) and come and enjoy the zoo for the rest of the day after the race.
